This week we had our cross country. The kids used such great resilience and I was so proud of them.

Daffodil Day
Today we had a stunning day for raising money for the Cancer Society. We had a lovely assembly and jump jam and then drew some lovely chalk pictures with the entire school! We raised $600!
Hiwi The Kiwi
We were very lucky to have The Minstrel and his Wife come to Pukete on Monday. He taught us about saving our oceans, sea birds and ourselves with some great songs. We loved singing and dancing with him.
This is some of his show at another school:

More Things are Growing! Welcome Back Lilly
As the days go by, we have noticed our seeds growing! Look at our beans, cress and carrot tops! They must have sunlight, water, space and soil to grow!
We even have a been maze! What do the think the bean will do inside this dark box with only light coming from the top?
We made our own bean glasshouses to watch the seed germinate!
Our growth wall is growing!!!

Growth
Our inquiry this term is growth and what brings about growth. This is how we began our inquiry with WE WONDER questions:
We had a letter from a Giant at maths time and had to measure his hands and feet!
Then we took our rulers outside to see if we could compare the giant's foot size.
We also planted some cress seeds to watch them grow into our crazy hair. We learnt that cress needs, soil, water and light to grow.
We did some Beanstalk Maths
And learnt about parts of a plant making a booklet:
We planted climbing beans!
